Usage

Plans are anchored to active matters.

Lawyers think in matters, not event counts. Each plan includes a set of active matters with ordinary docket monitoring, PDF ingestion, OCR, AI summaries, daily briefs, and document chat.

Processing events remain a fair-use guardrail for unusually high-volume cases. If one matter starts looking like operational infrastructure, DocketRunner will review usage before applying any additional processing charges.

What is an active matter?

An active matter is a case receiving docket monitoring, filing ingestion, AI analysis, daily briefs, document chat, or related workflow processing during the billing month. Events are tracked behind the scenes only to keep high-volume matters fair.

Coverage

Court coverage and access.

DocketRunner is built around filing intake, PDF capture, OCR, deadline extraction, and source-linked case work, with pricing centered on the workflow layer rather than court-access markup.

Coverage

DocketRunner supports all U.S. courts — federal, state, bankruptcy, and appellate. Court-specific automation depends on the notice format, document access rules, and how filings are delivered to the platform.

PACER access

DocketRunner does not mark up PACER or court-access costs. If a filing is already available through a cached or otherwise accessible source, there may be no incremental PACER charge. When a PACER charge does apply, it runs through the customer's account or is passed through without markup.

The subscription covers ingestion, OCR, extraction, AI workflows, and matter organization. Customers remain responsible for required court credentials and applicable court-access terms.

Call Intake

Start with a short intake.

Give us the basics on your practice, active matter load, filing-source workflow, and AI requirements before scheduling.

We use a short intake form to qualify the call and route it correctly.

FAQ

Common questions.

Are PACER fees included?

No. DocketRunner does not mark up PACER or court-access costs. If a filing is already available through a cached or otherwise accessible source, there may be no incremental PACER charge. Where a PACER charge does apply, it either runs through the customer's PACER account or is passed through separately without markup.

What is included in managed AI?

Each standard plan includes a managed AI allowance for summaries, extraction, citations, daily briefs, embeddings, and chat. Solo is managed-AI only with usage guardrails. Pro and higher can support approved bring-your-own-provider configurations.

Can my firm bring its own AI provider or API key?

Yes on Pro and higher. Bring-your-own-provider configurations can include providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or other supported model gateways. Higher tiers add firmer control over retention, routing, governance, and support.

What is an active matter?

An active matter is a case receiving docket monitoring, filing ingestion, AI analysis, daily briefs, document chat, or related workflow processing during the billing month.

What is a processing event?

A processing event may include a docket update, filing ingestion, PDF retrieval, webhook update, OCR job, AI extraction, or related case-data processing step. Processing events are not the headline pricing metric; they are used as fair-use guardrails for unusually high-volume matters.

What happens if we exceed included usage?

DocketRunner will notify customers before material overages apply. Sustained high-volume matters may require a larger plan, an additional processing block, bring-your-own AI, or a custom arrangement.

What court workflows do you support?

DocketRunner supports all U.S. courts — federal, state, bankruptcy, and appellate. Court-specific automation depends on the notice format, document access rules, and customer setup.
